Troubleshoot - Asset Inventory database erased during inventory exercise

Hi,
User reported that his asset inventory data on the scanner has been lost during the inventory exercise. The syncing was done in this year and the asset inventory was in progress.
However, the Last Sync date displayed on the Motorola ES400 is Oct 2015. Is there a means to check what has been done on the scanner?

Thank you.

Hi,

There is not much in the way of logging on the device itself unfortunately. Depending on how you are synhronizing data, there may be some options.
1. If you are using text file import/export on the device, it may be possible to check the time/date stamp of the last created export file. These export files are located on the device in the \MyDocumnets\TracertPlus\Data\Exported folder.

2. If you are using TracerPlus Connect, you can take a look at the log files for any time/date info that may be provided there. This log file is accessible via the View-->Event Log-->Open Log file menu option.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for your reply. I am now digging into the log file but am not sure as to which client connection was made. The log file states several connections . We have 2 scanners with following device names: 28B44DA4-ED9B0985 and EFCA5474-E29CEC7D. The log file states connection as follows:

[05-09-16|14:38:28.584 - 8.0.0.886 - Info]: Client connected[28B44DA4-ED9B0985] or
[05-12-16|09:24:31.504 - 8.0.0.886 - Info]: Client connected[169.254.2.1] or
[05-09-16|09:19:00.807 - 8.0.0.886 - Info]: Client connected[EFCA5474-E29CEC7D]

At what point in time, does this connect string appear and where does the 169.254.2.1 come from?

Thank you again.

Regards,
Mohini
