Softkeys on MC9500

I am having trouble to assign the Motorola MC9500 softkeys (green, F1-F2-F2-red) to buttons in Tracerplus 8.2.0.978 sessios.
I assume a button gets the a "hot key" defined and performs the difined "button action"

SoftKeys ( Green, F1-F2-F2, Red) will allow you to click on buttons directly from your scanner's keyboard without having to touch the screen. After assigning your action button to either F1, F2 F3 Green or Red, you will use those buttons on your keyboard to execute the action. Softkey 1 is represented by the green button on your scanner and Softkey 2 is represented by the red button.
